The
Commercial Advisory Services team advises corporate and private equity
clients on strategic and commercial issues affecting their key
investment decisions. We offer
strategic advice to help our clients think through the most pressing
strategic issues they face. Areas of our work include:
· Commercial due diligence
· Strategy assessment
· Market entry strategy and opportunity sizing
· Product and business unit strategy development
· Divestment options analysis
The
UK forms a key hub for EY's European CAS practice along with Germany
and the Nordics. With a team of 25 people in London led by three
Partners, this established team is a key area of investment and growth
for the business. As EY moves towards a strong sector-led organisational
structure, Life Sciences & Healthcare is an important area of
growth broadly in the business and continues to receive targeted
investment. The current client base spans both corporate and private
equity businesses locally and internationally.
Director / Assistant Director
Given
the success of the existing group and considerable market opportunity
in life sciences & healthcare, an experienced Director or Assistant
Director is required to support EY's commitment to grow this key
transaction advisory function.
Working
with both corporate and private equity clients in the life sciences and
healthcare sector, this person will play a key role in the ongoing
commercial success of the team. Working with a high-performing globally
integrated team, this role will have responsibility for a diverse range
of client projects, will support the ongoing development of the team,
and the evolution of its deliver capability, service offering, and
standing in the marketplace. As this practice goes through a key period
of sustained growth, this person will play an important role in defining
the strategy and growth of CAS’s efforts in the life sciences &
healthcare sectors. Critical to this will be supporting business
development activities with existing and target clients, driving
delivery efforts on large-scale and complex client assignments and
coaching and supporting the growing team.
Accountabilities
· Drive
revenue growth, target client origination and existing client
diversification and all associated business development activities to
expand EY's market share
· Deliver
revenues of £0.5-1m personally within a 12 month time horizon, as well
as playing an Advisory Account Leadership role on some key client
accounts
· Responsibility for delivery of assignments across the client portfolio
· Develop
and support management of executive level/ C-suite client relationships
to drive business-winning opportunities across the CAS spectrum and in
support of Transaction Advisory Services’ wider growth ambitions
· Leverage
EY's existing client relationships in other service lines and regions
to increase share-of-wallet and to strengthen the EY brand across the
life sciences & healthcare marketplace with respect to the CAS
agenda
· Drive
innovation to ensure provision of market leading, relevant and
highly-targeted solutions and content-rich thought leadership to clients
· Contribute
to delivery of wider strategic objectives across Transaction Advisory
and the wider UK & Ireland business at EY, as well as supporting and
participating in initiatives for growth of the firm as a whole
· Contribute
to aspects of Practice development including; internal and external
recruitment at more junior levels, developing coaching and managing team
members to elevate performance levels across the team, client account
management, solutions and capability enhancement, and driving a culture
of operational excellence and quality in client service
· Support the ongoing growth of the CAS life sciences & healthcare team, integrating services with EY's wider offering
Credentials / Profile Sought
· Developed knowledge of commercial strategy development and/ or M&A within the life sciences and healthcare marketplace
· Demonstrable
track record of origination and execution of assignments within a
recognised/ leading consultancy firm, or an evidenced track record of
success gained in the strategy department of a leading corporate in the
field
· Track
record of successfully pitching for business, identifying and
anticipating commercial opportunities and converting networking activity
into delivery of revenue
· Strong stakeholder management skills
· Ability to navigate successfully across complex, geographically and commercial diverse operations
· Gravitas and experience to bring credibility to the table at the most senior levels both in client organisations and internally
· Ability to plan and deliver sections of work against tight deadlines
· Highly developed commercial acumen and project management skills
· Degree
educated to at least 2:1 or equivalent level from a global leading
university. An MBA or post-graduate qualification in a relevant
discipline to life sciences would be beneficial
· The ability to share and cascade technical and other knowledge with the team and the wider practice
