Data Services
The Schroders Global Data Services function provides Schroders client base a range of data services including market data management, securities data management and client and portfolio data management. Services are provided directly to internal clients across Investment, Distribution and Operations divisions within the firm.
A new Investment Data Services team has been created to work closely with the Investment group (Equity, Fixed Income and Multi Asset) lines of business to better understand and drive their data solutions. Working as part of the global data services team this is an exciting opportunity to work directly with Investment groups, IT and Architecture to deliver data solutions on a new and expanding platform.
Key Responsibilities
• Working closely with multiple investment groups to understand their business process and demand for data
• Gathering, documenting and analysing data requirements using specific data centric tools
• Working closely with IT, Architecture and other functions in shaping projects, solution design, testing and implementation.
• Working with external data vendors to analyse and source data
• As the processes and platform evolves, there will be some component of operational data support. This may include but not be limited to:
o Investment data sourcing, setup and maintenance
o Investment data integrity and quality checking
o Investment data analysis and reporting
o Problem resolution including end-to-end cross functional issue management
o Reporting and escalation including compilation of MI data
• Proactive identification and ownership of data quality exceptions to closure including root cause analysis and assisting improvements in data assurance
• Ensuring compliance with Schroders Data Management principle and processes.
Person Profile:
• Demonstrable experience gained in a similar or related role.
• Strong Investment data analysis background preferably within Asset Management front or middle office functions – a subject matter expert across Asset Classes in Investment data and analytics.
• Experience in direct interaction with business users in defining, analysing and agreeing requirements.
• Experience of using:
o Data Vendors i.e. Bloomberg, Interactive Data, Rimes.
o Investment tools i.e. Point, Delta, Factset.
• Knowledge of indices i.e. MSCI, S&P, JPMorgan, FTSE etc.
• A good understanding of operational process, tools and capabilities for supporting data services
• Excellent PC skills, particularly Excel and Word.
• Motivated, committed and enthusiastic personality.
• Able to build constructive and credible relations with Investors.
• Driven to learn and increase own knowledge of Investment information requirements.
• Service delivery oriented and able to work collaboratively across teams.
• Able to prioritise, work on own initiative and under pressure – a self starter.
• Focussed on continuous improvement, quality and delivery.
• Effective communication skills, written, presentational and verbal.
• Must have excellent attention to detail.
