Control Analyst (Job Number: 1316189)

Description

Job Purpose

To assist in the development and delivery of a variety of control and risk monitoring processes. Questioning practices and procedures within Operations and identifying areas of potential risk that require investigation. Production and analysis of management reporting for regulatory and internal oversight.

Responsibilities

CASS Oversight

Create CASS Oversight MIS as part of the required CASS program (including NOSTRO Securities Accounts and Internal Operating Accounts).

Governance to include validations and sign-offs ensuring departments adherence to new & existing CASS policies.

Risk and regulatory reporting

Produce management and regulatory reporting.

Analyse reporting in an effort to minimise operational risk and ensure on-going compliance with regulatory standards.

Assist in the development and continual improvement of management information reports to ensure data and metrics are relevant and add value.

Manage operational review meetings.

Internal Oversight

Produce Oversight MIS.

• Analyse reporting in an effort to minimise operational risk and ensure on-going compliance with regulatory standards.

Maintain ongoing dialogue with Offshore Operations and key stakeholders.

Management Information and Reporting

Ensure a robust management information and reporting infrastructure exists within securities Operations to support continuous monitoring and review of performance.

Relationships

Liaise with internal departments to ensure effective query resolution.

Maintain and develop cross functional working relationships.

Ensure all queries are responded to within 24 hours. Manage Vendor relationships for external applications.

Workstreams

Manage the implementation of new tasks and/ or processes to Securities Operations Control.

Conduct Impact analysis of new Bank policies and regulatory requirements in co-operation with Risk, Compliance and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Training

Minimum education to GCSE level or equivalent 5 passes ( AC including Mathematics and English) Essential.

A-Levels/Degree - preferable.

Prepared to complete industry qualifications as required Essential.

Experience

Previous experience in a financial services environment - Preferable

Previous experience in a Custody environment - Preferable

Previous knowledge/experience of CASS regulatory requirements - Desirable

Job Skills and Knowledge

Good knowledge of bank systems, policies and procedures.

Ability to quickly understand and interpret data.

Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

Initiative and enterprise.

Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Attention to detail

Results focused.

Team player

Good knowledge of Word and excel

This role does not fall under the FSA T&C Scheme and the postholder will not have to complete the Investment

Administration Qualification within 2 years of appointment.
