*Great opportunity for an In-House Legal Counsel based in London*
Primary Purpose of Role:
Responsible for advising on a range of legal issues affecting the following business areas, ultra high net worth clients, derivatives, foreign exchange and private investments.
Provide back up to the General Counsel with regard to discretionary and advisory investment management and financial advisory business and other general corporate issues.

- Negotiate, draft, vet and interpret legal documents, agreements.
- Analyse and provide advice on cross border legal issues such as customer solicitation, provision of investment services/products in other jurisdictions.
- Investment transactions – reviewing/negotiating/amending legal documents such as prospectuses, distribution agreements, legal agreements relating to investments in non public investments and derivatives.
- Responsible for the provision of commercially pragmatic legal advice on internal and external legal matters.
- Offer solutions – creativity and problem solving in a strategic sense.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Assess and advice on impact of legal risk in relation to any business carried out by the firm.

- Contribute constructively to discussions and meetings as appropriate
- Focus on developing product knowledge
- Ability to work both independently but as part of a team, both in terms of the Legal, Compliance and Firmwide Risk Team and with other colleagues throughout the Firm.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to confidently deliver legal advice in an often time sensitive and pressurized manner.
- Ability to analyse and interpret relevant regulatory and legal documents/requirements, both in the UK and cross border.
- A clear understanding of commercial issues faced by the business.
- Experience of working with either a family office or had significant exposure to derivatives, private equity, ultra high net worth clients
- 5-7 year+ experience.
