The role’s primary focus is to analyse the performance of GE International’s consumer portfolios at all stages of the credit lifecycle; working with country CRO’s, Norwalk and analytic teams to identify portfolio hotspots and perform deep dive analytics of ~$50Bn of consumer products across 16 countries, supporting multiple internal and external stakeholders.
The applicant will need to have an analytical mind-set allowing identification of risk drivers and both their cause and effect as well as an understanding of consumer products. Further the role requires an applicant with an effective influencing style, who enquires and listens and is able to deliver consistent / timely portfolio information.

This role is a key contributor to the GE Capital International Consumer Risk team. The primary focus is to deliver portfolio insight to relevant SLT stakeholders, identify portfolio hot spots and perform deep dive analytics drawing attention to areas for improvement and recommendations to mitigate risks.
It requires deep Consumer portfolio experience, incisive portfolio assessment and proven ability to effectively communicate portfolio status.

Key Business Deliverables:

1/ Manage portfolio quality assessment for consumer portfolio
• Build, implement and maintain monthly dashboard to quantify originations, collections, credit costs and reserve performance. Include variances to plan and prior reporting periods
• Lead and influence matrix teams to deliver trend analysis and performance reporting across the full portfolio life cycle - underwriting, account management, collections and asset management.
• Assist in developing a monthly portfolio quality review template, ensuring policy 5.0 and 6.0 triggers are tracked and corrective action plans are developed / maintained with the markets
• Leverage REMEX data to develop a quarterly portfolio review looking at the consumer portfolio on a combined/consolidated basis
• Participate in Annual Reviews ensuring framework is in line with GECC standards

2/ Identify global concerns and develop action plans to resolve
• Monitor business through monthly and quarterly PQRs and EMRCs
• Partner with markets to organise and structure monthly country PQRs. Take lead role in governance of PQR meetings to ensure appropriate minutes and actions captured
• Work with countries to obtain portfolio segmentation to support portfolio initiatives. Analyse impact of external factors to validate planning models
• Identify potential hotspots from a risk perspective, gather deep dive data from sub business unit, undertake impact assessments and develop corrective action plans
• Work with shared analytics teams to link portfolio reporting and performance indicators to output from allowance for losses modelling, stress testing and model governance

3/ Perform risk challenge function within collections
• Monitor and challenge collection performance via monthly meetings. Monitor against pre-agreed triggers
• Monitor and analyse loan restructures and the use of hardship tools across platforms, including selection criteria, underwriting parameters, tool usage, re-default rate and overall performance.
• Partner with collections to establish and implement loss mitigation strategies in compliance with GECC collection strategy policies

4/ Maintain common risk standards across consumer portfolio
• Partner with GECC product leaders and policy managers in policy design and implementation.
• Ensure markets are compliant with GECC policies for all consumer products
• Assist Consumer Risk team to review policy exception requests, ensuring outstanding items are followed up on as necessary in order to obtain sign-off where appropriate. Ensure completion of remedial action plans where exceptions to policy are not granted.

5/ Documentation Governance and Controls Framework
• Develop and maintain a GE Capital International wide documentation governance framework to centralise all facets (e.g. reports, reviews, minutes etc.) related to the on-going program of risk assessment, monitoring, management and controls within the Consumer Risk team
 Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, Credit Risk
 Extensive experience in a Risk Management role or similar
 Self-starter who is highly motivated to identify and perform deeper dive portfolio analyses
 Proven ability to transform raw data into analyses that drive mitigation and avoidance of loss
 Willing to challenge the status quo while being customer focused results and solutions oriented
 Knowledge and understanding of consumer business models, products, portfolio analytics and/ or underwriting experience
 Experience and knowledge of GE Capital Risk Management policies (5.0/6.0)
 Strong communication skills , verbal, written and presentation
 Ability to interface and influence global teams
 Experience working within regulated businesses
 Expert MS office skills esp Excel, Word and PowerPoint
