GENERAL SUMMARY
Provides leadership in the development of open storage software business plans and strategy. Will support the Business Line and Product Line Directors in identifying business opportunities. Will provide industry insights, and drive product direction within the company and the industry. Creates "first, best content" which describes and communicates product vision and product direction for customers, analysts, and internal EMC audiences. Formulates tactics to support the growth associated with a product and/or product family. Understand the competitive ecosystem.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages the business plan associated with a product family or a particular business line.
Responsible for the formulation of business plans for a family of products. Will drive the development of investment goals and operational metrics. Pro-actively anticipate and lead product requirements, releases, launches, product sales and support effectiveness and any other components of product success.
Will help define and build industry-leading products, bringing deep understanding of the industry and customer environment.
Capable of presenting at industry forums and to develop relationships with subject matter experts within the industry, with the intent to influence industry direction and thinking.
Will conceptualize and articulate product and business strategy. Develops and mentors other consultants and product managers within the organization.
Leads teams of consultants and cross-functional experts in the formulation of strategy. Identifies new business opportunities and assess potential acquisitions and partnerships in support of developing the business.
