A leading financial services organisation has a vacancy for an technical analyst to join their team.
You will join a team of talented IT professionals and come from a similar background of financial services/banking. In the role you will be primarily Designing, creating and maintaining scripts and scheduling jobs to collect and process system metrics.

Reporting to the Systems manager you will use excellent communication skills to gel with the rest of the organisation and your in depth knowledge of Perl/Shell Scripting will enable you to do the job required.
You will be university educated in Computer Science/IT and have a passion for the financial services industry.

Ok this sounds pretty good, so what will I be doing?:

*Design, create and maintain scripts, scheduling jobs and documentation to agreed standards.
*Evaluate business and/or technical solutions, recommending the most appropriate way forward, providing input to project cost-benefit cases, and resolving any technical conflicts.
*Monitor performance and growth of delivered solutions, highlighting and/or implementing areas for change and/or improvements, which will ensure Service Levels are achieved.
*Maintain awareness of current and future installed software product functionality, recommending and/or implementing features which would benefit the company.
*Develop /review technical design specifications and advise on Operational impact.
*Continually incorporate quality management, assurance and best practices into all support and project areas to ensure services are delivered within agreed Business requirements (including out of hours where appropriate).
*Design /maintain effective support processes for all key software/systems across platforms.


What's needed to do this job?

*A Level GCSE Maths and English and a Degree Or Higher National in IT.
*Be experienced with Perl and Shell scripting
*If you are knowledge able of Nagios or equivalent this would be highly regarded.
*What would also be awesome if you know SQL and/or Powershell scripting
*You will also have Excellent written and verbal communications skills
*Ability to liaise with staff up to Director level
*Have Analytical skills and the Ability to think strategically
*Be Self - motivated, Pragmatic and a Team Player
