An exciting opportunity has arisen
within this West End based asset management business for a Trainee
Accountant to assist both the Finance Director and Compliance Officer in
meeting the increasing demands of this growing Investment Management
business.
Role & Responsibilities

Finance
- End to end accounts payable / receivable
- Bank reconciliations
- General book keeping
- Assist with production of management accounts and board papers
- Assist with production of statutory accounts
- Assist in budget process
- Update fund performance monitoring files
- Liaise with fund administrators on day to day queries
- Fund reporting
- Recording of all portfolio trades
- Reconciliation of trades booked by fund manager to broker confirmations
- Monitoring compliance with fund investment restrictions;
- Ensuring compliance with the FCA Conduct of Business Rules (COBS)
- Personal Account Dealing; and
- Gifts and benefits
- Market Abuse
- Ensuring compliance with Market Abuse Rules:
- Insider Dealing; and
- Restricted securities within the order management system (Arbor).
- Monitoring and recording marketing activity.
- Ad hoc work allocated by the Compliance Officer
- FCA reporting through Gabriel
- FCA dealing disclosures
Background & Experience
The successful candidate will:
- have financial services experience
- be part qualified accountant or have an accounting qualification (assistance with exams would be considered)
- have strong Excel and Word skills
- ideally have Sage experience, but this is not essential
- have an eye for detail
- have the flexibility to undertake a variety of tasks
- be able to manage expectations of others by keeping them informed of progress and developments
- be able to communicate and interact with confidence at ease at senior levels in organisations
- demonstrate common sense and initiative
- be proactive
- follow through on issues and ensures deadlines are adhered to
- work well under pressure
