Capital Project Management for Upstream We require Product / Capital Project Lifecycle Consultants with strong Upstream Oil and Gas Industry expertise. The Upstream Oil and Gas sector is a major growth and investment area for IBM, having seen double digit growth over the past five years. Right now, we are working at the heart of some of the industry’s most appealing and challenging projects to design their capital project operating environments, processes and technology solutions, to deliver a step change in capital project delivery performance. Working alongside our talented and widely experienced consultants, you’ll have the opportunity to determine innovative solutions which overcome complex business / industry challenges. On a daily basis, you’ll transform capital project and operations management performance to deliver real business improvements for our clients. Whether it’s in strategy, planning, operations or technology, your advice will help our clients to get better control of their projects, better visibility of their demand and to operate more efficiently and effectively. As well as a motivated and enthusiastic approach, you’ll need plenty of ambition and a talent for team work. The following will also be essential: • A strong academic record. • Significant years experience in capital project planning and management, including design and delivery, spanning inception to handover. • Process and functional expertise on capital projects and asset management lead practices. • Understanding of cost management of capital projects • Experience in handover from capital projects to operations • Strength in engineering data lifecycle and related data standards • Project definition for capital projects • Significant experience of solution deployments using leading PLM packages such as Intergraph – Smart-plant, Siemens - Team Centre, Aveva, Bentley, Mclaren, SI Cor Upstream Oil and Gas domain experience: • Significant experience within the upstream oil and gas industry or related engineering, procurement and construction • Applications experience (usage, data model, application architecture) in at least one key area relating to upstream oil and gas systems. • Working knowledge of oil & gas technology components • Experience working in an upstream oil and gas service company. • Awareness of oil & gas business architecture . People skills: • Background in consultancy or experience as an adviser to the business. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Leadership and strong team working skills. • Strong project delivery skills. • The ability to communicate articulately, effectively and with passion at all levels of business. • Strong credibility and a flair for building excellent client relationships. • The ability to engage with senior clients and act as a trusted advisor. Ideal candidates will have proven consulting experience and can shine in all aspects of operations and supply chain consulting from strategy, design and optimisation, through process definition, technology selection and implementation, to change management and the delivery of tangible business benefits.
