BUSINESS UNIT AND ROLE OVERVIEW
The Human Capital Management (HCM) Division comprises of centrally and divisionally aligned teams who specialise in addressing the needs of particular client groups.
HCM is made up of several departments such as Employee Relations who act as the internal consulting group to all levels of employees and management; Leadership and Diversity who help drive the firms commitment to attracting and retaining the best and most diverse talent at all levels; Finance who assist in the operation of the division; Pine Street and Goldman Sachs University who are committed to helping our people develop; Recruiting; Reward, which incorporates Wealth, Compensation, Health and Wellness, HCM Services and Global Mobility Services; Talent Assessment Group who manages the planning, development and talent management processes; Strategy and Management which provides HCM related services and counsel for HCM.
The Compensation team is part of the Global Reward function within the Human Capital Management Division. The EMEA Compensation team encompasses both the Firmwide and Executive Compensation functions.
The Firmwide Compensation function drives the development and implementation of our global compensation philosophy, policies and practices to help effectively attract, retain, and motivate employees. Key responsibilities include:
• New hire compensation and complex offers, compensation approvals, equity valuations, Analyst Program compensation, salary policy, external and internal benchmarking, Non-Exempt employee compensation and coordination of year-end processes and compensation communication
The Executive Compensation function is at the forefront of the firm's response to significantly increased regulatory requirements in the compensation space, ensuring compliance with regulations while maintaining the competitive and rewarding nature of our compensation structure. Key responsibilities include:
• Responding to legislative and regulatory requirements, maintaining and running existing executive compensation plans, assisting with the disclosure of Directors Emoluments in the statutory accounts and other remuneration disclosure requirements, handling employee queries in respect of existing plans and equity awards.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will predominantly cover the Executive Compensation function described above. In particular: keeping abreast of regulatory developments and preparing senior management postings; supporting the year-end regulatory approval process, preparation of proposal documents relating to new compensation models and structures and preparation of compensation disclosure documentation.
The role requires liaison with colleagues in the regional, divisional and central compensation teams, departments outside of HCM including Compensation Accounting, Equity Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Controllers, Legal, Tax and external advisors
Basic Qualifications
SKILLS / EXPERIENCETo be successful in this role, the candidate will need to demonstrate strength and experience in the following areas:
• Experience of general compensation practices
• Experience of executive compensation practices and regulatory awareness
• Excellent analytical skills, including very strong Microsoft Excel skills - an ability to review current processes and/or data, detect and correct errors, take responsibility for data quality; attention to detail essential
• Client service focus and relationship management skills; notable responsiveness and a "can-do" attitude; ability to understand and articulate the needs of the client
• Project management and execution - highly organized and proven ability to execute and manage complex logistics, projects and tasks, prioritize workload and meet deadlines
• An ability to understand and consider requirements of differing firmwide functions, divisions and regions
• Good judgment - knowing when to escalate an issue combined with a willingness to be flexible
• Business Objects and Word/Powerpoint skills preferred
