Role Summary/Purpose	The Model Based Development (MBD) Tools Section Leader will lead the portion of the Platforms Tools organization executing the MBD, in the US and UK, as well as the Cheltenham Platform Tools product team. This exceptionally capable leader will comprehensively assess all aspects of the MBD Tools development to certification, driving successful strategic planning and execution. This represents the core engineering requirements, design, analysis and verification of the MBD tools across E&T.
Essential Responsibilities	In addition, you will: Lead a multi-site engineering section which is responsible for developing engineering tool products which support generation-changing products and technologies Drive changes into the product development lifecycle to reduce development time and cost which will increase our competitiveness. Support development of the Platform Tools Roadmaps and Architectures as a key member of the Aviation Systems Platform Tools leadership team. Act as UK focal point for the Aviation Systems Platform organization. Support the establishment and execution of common strategies, roadmaps, and plans for future tools development. These strategies will encompass maximizing reusability across GEAS product lines. Establish a culture of engineering excellence. Model the essence of a true engineering leader by distinguishing themselves in their values as to how they lead, motivate and inspire others Review organizational activities based on key indicators within their scope of responsibility. Align management and team plans around overall strategic engineering objectives. Communicate expectations clearly through evaluation and development sessions Recruit, develop, and continually assess leadership and support personnel within the Platforms Engineering organization. Stay ahead of 'the curve' in regards to building a talent pipeline in anticipation of future staffing and recruiting requirements Develop influential relationships with assigned internal and external customers at all levels, and provide specific engineering strategies, credibility, plans and actions that differentiate GE Aviation Systems from its competitors Foster and inspire a collaborative work style and display team-oriented behavior with a proactive example of communication internally and externally Develop funding and execution strategies to align with engineering and business objectives
Qualifications/Requirements	Bachelor's Degree or similar level of knowledge and experience Proven professional work experience in a related field
