The Quality Engineer – Subsea Trees will lead the effective investigation and resolution of customer issues and the analysis of cost of quality leading to effective corrective and preventative actions.
Customer Issue Resolution (CIR)
  • Provide training and guidance to the Trees team in the application and use of the Customer Issue Resolution (CIR) platform. 
  • Monitor all open CIR cases and ensure they are effectively assigned and are being investigated and resolved in a timely manner. Apply the CIR screening matrix to ensure the appropriate level of investigation is applied. 
  • Lead the investigation into cross functional CIR cases applying the appropriate root cause analysis tools. Identify and implement appropriate corrective and preventative actions. 
  • Analyse CIR’s for product and process trends and recommend improvements to avoid recurrence. 
  • Coordinate and facilitate a regular Trees CIR review board with representatives from all relevant functions to review for quality, progress and satisfactory close-out. 
  • Report CIR results on a regular basis in accordance with Quality operating rhythm.
Cost of Quality (COQ) Reduction
  • Support the reduction of cost of quality in the Subsea Trees product line by creating and leading the COQ operating rhythm. 
  • Develop and implement measurement systems (metrics) and prepare regular reports on Trees COQ in partnership with finance. 
  • Analyse data to identify trends of COQ issues and launch cross functional projects to reduce COQ. 
  • Coordinate and facilitate a monthly Trees COQ review board with representatives from all relevant functions to review major COQ events for commercial and quality impact. 
  • Develop and maintain a communication programme to provide employees with adequate information concerning COQ goals, objectives and performance. 
  • Drive COQ reduction projects cross-functionally between teams to resolve COQ issues leading to long term and sustainable improvements. 
  • Coordinate with Finance to ensure all COQ is recorded accurately in accordance with GE Oil & Gas categories. 
  • Actively participate and present to the COQ Review Board and the COQ Network meetings.
Quality System support
  • Support Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and business improvements within Trees by participating in improvement teams. 
  • Support effective root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventative action (CAPA) processes within Trees on high impact quality issues. 
  • Support the lessons learned process and contribute using internal and external experiences and feedback. 
  • Perform internal audits of Trees functions and processes. 
  • Support the development and implementation of quality policies, procedures and work instructions within the Trees environment assuring alignment with industry and GE Oil & Gas requirements and that meet the needs of the business.
  • Appropriate level qualification in Business, Engineering or Quality Management. 
  • Finance and Quality processes knowledge. 
  • Solid analytical approach, great interpersonal skills, strong commitment to issues resolution. 
  • Quality auditor experience. 
  • Lean Six Sigma and RCA experience 
  • Microsoft package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) knowledge.
