Role Summary/Purpose	Manage production & delivery of high quality UK statutory accounts to meet internal & external deadlines. The role involves 40-50% project or ad-hoc work, covering, but not limited to, group structure simplification, business valuations, impairment reviews, SOX testing, IFRS conversion & accounting research. aspects of the GE Money Home. As a member of the Reporting team, they will have the opportunity to interact with senior finance management & board of directors on a regular basis.
Essential Responsibilities	•Preparation/ Review of statutory and tax packs under UK GAAP for 30+ UK entities within internal deadlines •Preparation/ Review of UK Group consolidation and sub-consolidations •Presentations to the senior management team and the board of directors on the statutory accounts •Preparation/ Review the reconciliation between statutory accounts and management accounts (‘Stat to GAAP’) •Manage external audit process •Liaison with tax department and responding to their queries on a timely basis •Owning relationship with accounting centre of excellence to ensure statutory accounts are produced to correct standard •Assist the close team in preparing and reviewing balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly and quarterly basis •Liaison with close team to ensure legal entity purity •On-going monitoring of oracle ledgers to ensure accuracy of ledger bookings is maintained •Projects relating to company structure and control environment including : Company eliminations, business simplification, business valuations and impairment reviews and control implementation •Performance of Sarbanes Oxley and other control testing
Qualifications/Requirements	•Qualified accountant with preference for relevant experience in statutory reporting. •Sound knowledge of statutory accounts preparation under UK GAAP •Experience of auditor-interaction •Experience of SOX controls testing and Industry experience will be advantage •Strong excel, power point skills
