Provides custom integration implementation support on EMC products involving software, at the customer site, including pre-site inspection, initial installation, implementation, customization, integration and outline orientation for the customer. Assists Customer Service in product implementation services. Works closely with EMC Sales, Customer Service, Project Managers and other PS personnel, Corporate Technical Support and the customer to ensure a smooth implementation and transition from start-up to integration/production mode. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with EMC sales, PS and external customers. Capable of working with minimum supervision in the performance of assigned tasks.

  • Supports and reports to engagement Project Manager while assigned to active customer engagements. Advises Project Manager on Level of Effort required to perform assigned software implementations. Regularly communicates status of project and all applicable customer issues to the Project Manager. Performs according to established safety standards. Reports unsafe situations and recommends improvements. Prepares, maintains and submits activity/progress reports and time recording/management reports in accordance with published procedures. Keeps Program Managers and Project Managers informed of activities, alerting of any issues promptly. Provides updates to EMC case tracking system and or other technical applications for Software implementation and Problem Reporting/Resolution. Completes end-of-project reports.

  • Tracks, maintains and reports any travel and expense activities which are re-billable to the customer based on the engagement's Statement of Work. Seeks advice or assistance from PS management and/or CS Technical Support as required during difficult customer situations. Works in conjunction with EMC CS colleagues to ensure effective resolution of technical issues encountered during implementations. Installs EMC software products in a Mainframe and/or Open Systems hardware environment. Performs complex and/or extended-stay software implementations per the specifications in the Statement of Work, Scope document, Architecture Design Document or Project Manager direction.

  • Successfully manages relations with Customers utilizing negotiation and influencing skills to acquire the internal and external resources necessary for optimal results. May occasionally be called upon to act as a back up to the Project Manager or to provide team technical leadership on specific implementations. May be required to support and instruct less experienced co-workers, through classroom training sessions or on-the-job mentoring. Represents EMC in a professional manner to customers, EMC Partners and other EMC personnel at all times.

  • Trains customer personnel when authorized by PS Management May be required to coordinate the necessary resources within EMC to resolve issues or problems. May be required to support Program Managers, Project Managers and Solutions Architects in developing Scopes of Work and Project Plans. May also occasionally support other activities as necessary. Provides assistance to EMC technical teams in the development of custom solutions and implementation preparation. EMC Proven Professional Certification desired.

  • PPLICATIONS Oracle * Solid understanding of Oracle Database (multiple versions) and RAC. * Possesses knowledge of products, tools, services, messages and content associated with Oracle solutions. * Solid understanding of replication technologies. * Oracle DB Admin certification required Microsoft Exchange * Four to six years experience with Microsoft Exchange 20xx technology. * Solid knowledge/experience of Microsoft Windows and Exchange consolidations & migrations. * Understanding of replication technologies required. * MCSE, MCSA, MCP, MCTS certification required SAP * Understanding of SAP applications, SAP NetWeaver, BASIS administration, and SAP infrastructure. * Possesses knowledge of products, tools, services, messages and content associated with SAP solutions. SQL & Sharepoint * Understanding of SQL Server + SharePoint technologies. * Solid knowledge/experience of Microsoft Windows and SQL Server + SharePoint consolidations & migrations. * Solid understanding of replication technologies required.

  • Virtualization * Focused on supporting customer initiatives in the Virtualization, Network Convergence, and Cloud Enablement markets. * Extensive and comprehensive knowledge of networking media, protocols and vendor portfolios. * Experienced working knowledge of multiple server architectures, distributed systems and platform operating systems. * Experienced working knowledge of Data Center Design characteristics including, but not limited to, power, cooling, racking, cabling, operations, and security. * Recognized expert in one of the following VMWare portfolio or Microsoft Hyper-V or Citrix virtualization architectures. * Extensive UNIX or Linux knowledge including system administration, network administration, debugging and troubleshooting is required.

  • Converged Networking * Focused on supporting customer initiatives in the Virtualization, Network Convergence, and Cloud Enablement markets. * Extensive and comprehensive knowledge of networking media, protocols and vendor portfolios. * A minimum of 3 years of domain experience in the networking industry as integration engineer. * Extensive knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, ATM, and Routing Protocols is required * Knowledge of Fibre Channel internals and architectures and knowledge of complementary storage products along with FCoE is desirable. * Extensive UNIX or Linux knowledge including system administration, network administration, debugging and troubleshooting is required.

  • Proficiency in Unix Shell Scripting

  • Proficiency in Pearl scripting

  • Proficiency in Powershell

  • Proficiency in hardware, software and/or operating systems environments specifically Windows and Unix
