Responsibilities

This person filling this position will play an important role in the Technical Implementation Services organization, part of EMC's, Global Solutions Group, which provides planning, design, implementation and management services to EMC’s global clients. The specific focus for this role is the design and development of state of art Tools which will enable EMC’s field engineers to deliver higher value service offerings to EMC’s customers.

Required Skills

The Web Developer candidates are expected to have the following competencies:

- Experience of webpage technologies (such as JSP, HTML5, Ajax, Javascript, Dojo & Dijit, JQuery, Apache tiles)

- Knowledge of web service technologies

- Experience in GUI layout and design

- Experience of a Java MVC framework (such as Struts or Spring)

- Familiar with Apache, HTTP, Tomcat, databases, server-side Java

- Detailed knowledge of the software life cycle

- Problem solving skills

- Good understanding of Java architectures and design patterns

Desirable Skills

- Broad based understanding of enterprise software

- IE 6-9, FireFox, Chrome and cross-browser support

- Strong coding, profiling and testing skills

- Experience in interacting with SQL databases from Java, preferably using a persistence framework such as Hibernate

- Comfortable with configuration management tools, preferably Subversion, Maven and JIRA

- Knowledge of storage systems an advantage

- Experience with developing on Windows (primarily) and Linux

- VMware experience

- Experience of developing user interactive graphics (advantage)

- Ability to write concise and coherent functional and technical designs

- Exposure to requirements analysis

Required profile

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 4+ years experience.

- Be self-motivated

- Have a sense of urgency

- Flexible

- Have a proven track record in web development
