Overview:
EY UK is preparing the launch of a high profile, market-leading Corporate Responsibility (CR) venture. This will enable the firm to grow and sustain its social impact through increasing existing initiatives and 'flagship programmes', working with clients and other stakeholders across the country.

EY is looking for an experienced project manager to join this new CR venture to lead the firm's flagship UK entrepreneurship programme for start-up businesses and social entrepreneurs - the Accelerate Network.  You will be responsible for the strategic direction and delivery of Accelerate, including the roll out of the programme across the UK.  

Reporting into the Entrepreneurship lead, the successful candidate will have experience of supporting entrepreneurs and an in-depth knowledge of the opportunities and challenges faced by this business community in the UK today.  Experience of delivering projects in professional services would be an advantage.   

The post will be based in London and will involve travel across the UK and some evening events.

The Accelerate Network:

EY's Accelerate Network provides social and start up entrepreneurs access to tools and advice to help them scale their organisations. Support is provided through a series of learning events, mentoring and networking. We plan to grow the Accelerate Network from 250 to 350 entrepreneurs over the next 12 months. 

Main duties:

Strategy:
  • Developing a strategy for growing EY's Accelerate Network, including expansion across the UK, in line with KPIs set by Entrepreneurship Programme Lead
  • Agreeing budget with Programme Lead
  • Managing a series of contracts and relationships with third party organisations
  • Indentifying opportunities to expand Accelerate through building new relationships with third parties and businesses
  • Developing new, innovative ways to deliver the project
  • Supporting development of communications and media strategy for Accelerate
  • Identifying opportunities to create new projects through being a subject matter expert on entrepreneurship
  • Identifying thought leadership opportunities  
Delivery:
  • Managing implementation of Accelerate including managing volunteer project team, ensuring operational excellence
  • Delivering Accelerate in accordance with work plan, includes targets, milestones and key performance indicators
  • Ensuring Accelerate is delivered on time and on budget and in accordance with third party requirement
  • Producing regular performance reports demonstrating Accelerate's progress against KPIs, flagging risks
People:
  • Identifying, recruiting and supporting EY people to volunteer on Accelerate
  • Scoping out and providing skills development volunteering opportunities for EY people
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with CR team
Communications and Stakeholder Management:
  • Providing content for communications and media strategy
  • Giving presentations and representing EY at events to champion Accelerate and wider CR activity aimed at UK entrepreneurs, such as our highly regarded Entrepreneur of the Year programme and awards
  • Attending key events which will regularly be outside of normal office hours 
Other responsibilities:

Outside of the entrepreneurship focus, the role also includes providing support and guidance to one or more areas in the business in delivering the CR strategy.

Essential:
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise and the issues and opportunities facing entrepreneurs in the UK today
  • Experience of supporting entrepreneurs and start-up businesses/ social enterprises 
Desirable:
  • Successful track record of delivering national programmes to an exceptional standard, including meeting or exceed KPIs and scope
  • Experience of working with or in third sector organisations that support enterprise growth
Further essential qualities:
  • A team player with a confident manner and a professional, flexible, positive, calm and resilient approach
  • An ability to absorb a wide range of information and communicate succinctly and effectively
  • Close attention to detail, accuracy and quality at all times
  • Needs to be a collaborative team player
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with a range of people and stakeholders
  • High standard of written English
  • Ability to work outside of normal office hours and travel in the UK when required
