HSBC is looking for an Operational Risk Business Analyst with a good working knowledge of Operational Risk frameworks in banking and previous experience on gathering business requirements for an Operational Risk system
The Role
  • Business Requirements: Responsibility for preparing detailed Business Requirements for new modules for the Group Operational Risk system, and then delivery through UAT and into Production
  • Functional Design: Gain deep understanding of key modules of the system: Incidents, RCA, KI, … Help develop the Vision for evolution of these modules, meeting current and new business requirements
  • Ensure a robust and dynamic Project Governance is always applied, managing key Risks and Issues proactively
  • Data Analysis and Data Quality: Help ensure the quality of the Data being added to ORION is of High Quality
The main activities expected to be undertaken are:
  • Understand existing Op Risk Policy, Processes and the system
  • Work with multiple Businesses to Develop Conceptual (High Level) Business Requirements including Process, Work Flows, User Roles and Data Requirements
  • Facilitation of workshops with business SMEs to review Requirements and ensure their good input is incorporated and Approvals obtained
  • Develop Detailed Business Requirements including detailed work flows, Data Dictionary, User roles, High Level Object Relationships and Screen Mockups
  • Track User feedback on Requirements; be transparent and prompt in explaining the project response on each item
  • Preparation and Documentation with business SMEs of an inventory of target reports to support the business process
  • Develop Test Case and Support User in developing Test Cases in preparation for UAT
Requirements
  • Experience of Operational Risk Framworks within a banking environment
  • Experience with a variety of business exposures.
  • Previous experience of capturing business requirements for an operational risk system
  • Previous experience of large scale Business Change projects with a major Systems component
  • Knowledge of the Industry approaches to Operational Risk Management
  • Previous experience of undertaking workshops with business SMEs
  • Ability to deliver materials of the highest quality to management against tight deadlines
  • Ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence at senior level in the organisation
