The Communication Technology Specialist reports to the Internal Executive Communications Leader and supports the GE Capital International leadership and communications team via a portfolio of web-enabled corporate communications systems and tools, and is responsible for the design, planning and delivery of internal and external presentations and campaigns of the highest quality.
• Work with senior leaders to translate ideas/information into compelling presentations (content, graphics, layout, design, wording)
• Create PowerPoint pitches – creating graphics and images, to maximise the story for business impact )
• Support for events and other communications activities
• Quarterly e-updates: Management of content, design and distribution of quality (and ad hoc) business e-updates (newsletters, Webchats, WebEx, blogs, video, new social media, etc…)
• Provide leadership of communications technology across the business: Distribution lists, mailbox ownership, Webex, Connect, twitter, blogging, videos, new social media
• Develop a strategy for new internal communications techniques – webchat, webcasts, podcasts, blogs, social media etc...
• Develop, create and suggest video and moving image campaigns suitable for mass market
• Under the guidance of Internal Executive Communications Leader, designs and launches pan-International employee engagement initiatives; e.g. roll-out of campaigns, competitions, best practice sharing and idea generation
• Create tools (notice boards, Intranet portals, clip books) to showcase marketing communications output
• Within the OrgComms function, act as primary IT client contact for projects and initiatives from scope through implementation
• Coordinate with GE’s corporate intranet team on upcoming changes/updates/events to intranet technology
• Measure use of intranet and other electronic communication tools through regular report-outs to OrgComms team to allow for analysis of electronic communications’ use and planning for ongoing development.
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or other related field (such as journalism).
• Graphic design experience
• Experience with Adobe creative suites & design programmes
• Excellent communication skills: Poised and confident, able to interact and give thoughts to senior leaders
• Ability to work across multiple levels, functions and regions; able to clearly communicate information in an easy to understand manner; able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing
• Experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects and initiatives
• Adaptable/flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations
• Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others
• Experience working independently under minimal supervision
