The
Production Engineer will be the process specialist within their
dedicated area. The Production Engineer will maintain existing processed
and continually seek to improve process and product introduction.
There are Production Engineer positions within our Metal Cell area and Pipe Completion Cell area: Candidates are encouraged to identify which skill set they believe best fits the following areas:
Metal forming/rotation equipment
Modern heavy industry assembly techniques.
Include the following but other duties may be assigned:-
Ensure you maintain your responsibilities by compliance of EHS and Company Policies and Procedures.
Actively seek and evaluate potential risks/hazards and act accordingly
Plan projects (Define scope, work breakdown, schedule,
resource, budgets, risk analysis, schedule control, cost control, review
meetings, closure reports etc.) as directed by line manager
Own and coordinate Lean and continuous improvement
activities to achieve positive results and influence change in line with
manufacturing strategic goals
Ensure equipment is ‘fit for purpose’ with no impact to safety or quality
Interface with client inspectors acting as GE Wellstream’s Representative
Create / review and approve of necessary documentation (Procedures, SOI’s, Risk Assessments etc.)
Conduct / Support investigations following any incidents / accidents that occur
Responsible for the closure of corrective actions following incident / accident
Actively support Management initiatives in the improvement of EHS targets
Considers Environmental impact of working activities
Review and measure procedures implemented in the department
Reporting on variances with regards to quality standards
Recommend containment / corrective and preventative actions following breaches in the accepted quality standards
Implementing and sustaining containment / corrective and preventative actions when required
Ensures non-conforming product is highlighted and segregated accordingly
Educating quality improvements to all levels of personnel
Addressing potential quality issues raised through substandard materials and equipment
Promotes and educates “Right first time” behaviours within the department
Identify areas of future growth for the business / department
Liaise with internal departments on the development of product
Support the design of GE Wellstream’s products to meet client requirements
Support the design of ancillaries to meet client requirements
Develop designs following Design For Assembly principles
Look for cost effective solutions to meet GE Wellstream’s challenges
Support in the design of equipment to assist the manufacturing of flexible pipe
Development of new components / assemblies to meet the challenges of future requirements
Support and actively work towards all departmental
strategic objectives to deliver required results and effective
manufacturing processes
Monitor and progress rework
Promptly deal with problems that have been escalated that
are within your control, review your solution to ensure it has resolved
the problem from reoccurrence
Attend and present at operational and management meetings
Support business projects as directed by line manager.
Degree in an Engineering discipline or Equivalent Experience / Qualifications
Knowledge and experience of quality controlled systems (department documentation)
Strong influencing and communication skills
Ability to operate SolidWorks to an advanced level (Solid Modeling, Drawings, Design tables, etc.) - highly desirable
Ability to operate and navigate through computer packages (Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint etc.).
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Able to work in a team environment
Proven effective, practical problem solver
Natural problem solving abilities using the ‘5 why?’ technique to help determine root cause
Have an appetite to learn and an open mind with regards to new ideas and concepts
Ability to work on own initiative with minimal resource for advice and direction
Learns from actions (successes/mistakes)
Ability to challenge decisions in a constructive manner.
