The Technical Leader has the responsibility of managing all technical manufacturing processes within their dedicated Cell. Key to this role is an individual’s leadership, technical and people management skills. In this role you will ensure technical support is provided to the highest level to your cell stakeholders to ensure optimal performance levels.
  • Duties include the following, although other duties may be assigned:
  • Actively support and engage in all EHS activity, Company policies and procedures to ensure staff are fully compliant
  • Ensure all staff are fully trained and competent ensuring you have flexibility within your team skills
  • Effective resource management of team in line with production and project requirements
  • Expert on process and equipment for dedicated cell area
  • Participate in Lean Development programme utilising Lean Techniques, identify opportunities to improve overall production performance activity
  • Handle all ER matters with support from HR and management Team where necessary
  • Responsible in recruitment processes including assessments for new employees
  • Effective people and performance management of staff ensuring any issues are addressed and problems resolved
  • Provide detailed daily and monthly activity plan for area, identifying performance shortfalls and proactive solutions
  • Author of dedicated area process procedures ensuring they reflect best practices and produce optimal levels of manufacturing
  • Investigate and provide effective countermeasures for quality problems caused by equipment or process issues
  • Liaise closely with Shift Leader, Asset Management Team and other external key stakeholders to proactively prevent issues occurring in manufacturing process and continuously improve
  • Aid the resolution of technical and engineering issues
  • Attend and present at operational and management meetings
  • Liaise with clients as a business representative intrusted by the Cell Leader
  • Actively work towards Manufacturing Strategic Objectives.
  • Engineering Degree - highly desired.
  • Knowledge/experience of polymer extrusion, preferably in pipe manufacturing with the ability to determine technical specifications.
  • Proven achievement in extrusion and Process development.
  • Able to form cross functional teams.
  • Able to determine process problems and offer long term solutions and improvements
  • Ability to determine technical specifications.
  • Proven Supervisory track record
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to present information to a varied audience
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
