The Technical Support Engineer is required to take an active Operational Support Role in the Administration, Technical, Engineering, Operational, and Management of the Customers Equipment, from the delivery stage to installation offshore and through the Operational life of the equipment once commissioned in the field.
  1. The Operations Support Engineer must be able to: “first-hand” exposure to the Equipment and its potential problems, and thus problem solving and trouble-shooting, involvement with the customer (end-user).
  2. Co-ordinating an integrated range of services and solutions from GE Vetco Gray Organisation, working closely with the GE Operations Team, Company Representative, other Company staff and Company’s Contractors providing Engineering, Logistical, Technical and Operational Support, interfacing with third party suppliers and managing GE Subsea Production Equipment, Xmas Tree and Wellhead Systems during Project installation and any future well intervention Operations.
  3. Monitor and analyse Contract performance and ensure Customer and Company objectives for quality, reliability and total cost of ownership are achieved, Identify and initiate process improvements to meet these objectives.
  4. Produce and present progress reports.
  5. Fulfil the role of Focal Point on a day to day basis between the Customer, third party suppliers and GE covering all aspects of onshore and offshore Operational support including:
    • Installation;
    • Maintenance;
    • Refurbishment;
    • Tracking;
    • Certification of Vetco Gray Equipment.
  6. Liaise with Aftermarket, Engineering and Service Departments to co-ordinate all necessary equipment, repair maintenance and storage, ensuring equipment and personnel are ready and available to meet customer’s schedules.
  7. Assist in the preparation and submission of technical and operational proposals detailing a plan of work prior to commencement of offshore activities.
  8. Provides input to:
    • Design Reviews
    • SRT procedures and execution
    • HAZOP/HAZID meetings
    • Training assistance.
  • Understanding of manufacturing drawings and specification.
  • Be an effective communicator, both written and oral.
  • A knowledge of Quality Management Systems and the risks and hazards associated with an assembly and pressure testing environment.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Offshore Operations Experience.
  • Have a working knowledge of systems, procedures and other departments within the company
  • Ability to work as a Team Player.
