Private Equity and Funds Manager/Senior Manager - LON0055R

Our transaction tax specialists work with a wide range of clients
including domestic and international institutions, private equity funds,
debt funds, hedge funds, family offices and owner-managed businesses.
In addition to tax and structuring advice regarding specific
transactions and projects, the transaction tax team includes specialists
that focus on fund and business structuring for investment platforms
and owner-managers undertaking such transactions. This includes fund
structuring, on-going tax advice and tax reporting services for
alternative investment funds, as well as advice to their owner-managers
and key investors. Our client base is a mix of UK and non-UK domiciled
funds and we aim to offer clients a joined up service between core
transaction tax services, fund-related tax advice and reporting, and
also personal tax services to key investors and owner managers.
Key responsibilities in the role of Tax Manager / Senior Tax Manager:
· Build and maintain relationships with clients
· Proactive business development to win new work
· Manage the successful delivery of technically complex and
demanding consulting projects, ensuring technical excellence as well as
a practical and business-driven approach
· Project management of complex projects involving several
stakeholders, including coordination of international and specialist tax
advice from other teams where appropriate
· Responsibility for quality of client service in fund structuring and tax reporting projects
· Manage possible leads from other areas of the
organization and integrate with the core transaction tax and personal
tax services teams
· Build networks and relationships internally and externally
· Help people to develop through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring colleagues
· Contribute to talent initiatives, including retaining and training our team
· Significant role in the management of the team both in
terms of strategy and operations, and also through managing the
development of junior team members.
Skills and experience required for the role of Tax Manager / Senior Tax Manager
· Technical knowledge and practical experience in advising
alternative investment funds and their owner-managers. Experience with
private equity funds and their owner managers at an international level
would be particularly valued
· Client driven and strategically and commercially aware
· Strong UK tax technical skills and a good awareness of international tax issues
· Strong client relationship management skills with ability to develop quality outputs to clients
· Negotiation skills, able to sustain opinion and handle challenges
· Business development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell work
· Effective time management, ability to remain calm under pressure to meet deadlines
· Excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral
· Enthusiastic team player with ability to create, sustain and lead effective teams
· Experience of coaching and developing more junior team members
· Ensure delivery of quality work and take day-to-day leadership of client service team
· Change-orientated with flexible approach
· ACA / CA / Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training
course / Law qualification / Tax specialist qualification, or breadth of
knowledge equivalent to a Tax specialist qualification.
