Senior Java Developer/Architect (Low Latency, Big Data, Grid Computing) London
Circa £80,000 plus bonus/great benefits/travel etc
Our client is a leading global financial technology with a very strong presence in London and an ever growing client base for its innovative software products. The firm has clients across a range of industries (investment banking, retail, mission critical systems etc) and through continued demand within the financial space, the team is looking to bring on a senior java specialist to take a key client facing role in the London team.
The team is seeking a very deep technologist, with experience of distributed, grid or cloud computing and low latency. You will have an instant impact to the team and contribute to a number of high profile projects as the team drives forward into the big data space.
The role is based in London and there will be a large aspect of facing off to clients, therefore you will need strong communication skills and a passion for both technology and finance.
The team has just started its search and is looking to begin first stage telephone interviews with the lead architect as soon as possible (end of July/August).
Key Responsibilities for Senior Java Developer/Specialist – Grid Computing / Low Latency, London;
- Design and develop high performance/distributed system
- Interact with clients in the financial space in implementing the firms innovative products
- Work closely with senior architects and stakeholders in London
- Use strong technical background and knowledge of big data/cloud to keep firm at the cutting edge of financial technology
Key Skills required for Senior Java Developer/Specialist – Grid Computing / Low Latency, London;
- Core java design/development
- Caching
- Experience with oracle coherence, IBM eXtreme Scale, Gemstone, GemFire, TIBCO or related
- Deep grid computing/low latency experience
- Very strong communication skills
- Experience with big data concepts – Cassandra, Pig, Hive, Map Reduce
- Interest in the financial markets – background in investment banking or related is a big plus
