The Fabrication & Machining Cell Leader will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for their Cell. This role will
  • Utilize experience and or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others 
  • Execute short-term and some long-term business goals. 
  • Manage & coordinate activities inside their Cell related to:

  1. EHS 
  2. Planning 
  3. Material Management 
  4. Shop Operations.

  • Provide leadership in the attainment of goals with respect to safety, quality, cost, production and compliance. 
  • Direct process / product improvement programs and provide process method excellence throughout the organization. 
  • Lead Cell Team to achieve goals in asset utilization, process / manufacturing loss improvement, delivered quality, on time delivery and cost reduction. 
  • Ensure communication of key business / customer issues to employees. 
  • Select, hire, train, develop, and provide on-going leadership and direction of assigned personnel. 
  • Interface with other organizations and vendors to assure requirements are met on time. 
  • Participate in Site Team activities to meet identified shared goals. 
  • Achieve highest levels of internal and external customer service. 
  • Support Plant Manager in the strategic planning of manpower, equipment and other resources.
  • Advocate Lean Six Sigma rigors to all operations within the Cell.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing or Engineering is preferred 
  • Experience in an Operations Management role with a machine & fabrication back ground 
  • Additional experience in a Sourcing or Supply Chain management role 
  • Experience of Lean & Six Sigma Programs.

  • Must be self-motivated, and can work within a group or individually. 
  • Must have good personnel management skills, effective communication skills and be good at building relationships with others. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. 
  • The post holder must have a flexible approach to the workload, and be able to delegate work to their team.
