Manages
a team of design engineers, designers, draughters and technical staff
in electronic aspects of design, development and testing of PII pipeline
service products and equipment.He/she will implement new solutions
to existing problems and introduce new technologies and systems that
enhance PII’s service performance.
To
ensure the quality and fitness for purpose of specifications, systems
and designs across the electronic range of PII pipeline service
products.
To manage, guide and develop the competencies of teams of
electronic design engineers, technicians and draughters in the
undertaking of long-term projects.
Where necessary, ensure the production of design
documentation that meets company specifications and clearly defines
purpose, parameters and performance.
To identify, select and monitor suitable sub-contractors to
practice a design service where internal resources cannot meet
requirements.
To optimise the utilisation of both internal and external resources to achieve project goals.
To produce estimates, plans and budgets for projects undertaken and for the electronic design group as a whole.

Technical:
An honours degree in electronic engineering.
Corporate membership of a senior institution.
Proven experience in the design of firmware and digital hardware .
Provide technical guidance regarding system design, fault finding etc.

Awareness and appreciation of the market trends and emerging technologies relevant to the services PII provides.
Awareness of trends in the electronics industry.
Behavioural:
Team Leadership experience. Able to motivate and
influence in a matrix organization, and able to provide candid feedback
in a constructive manner.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills - ability to effectively influence and negotiate with all levels of people
