The
Principal IT Consultant will have a strong appreciation for the outcome
and delivery required by a customer. They have authority over technical
architecture design, specification and implementation of phased
solution deliveries. The Principal IT consultant will shape the solution
stack to successfully deliver the holistic solution. This must extend
to development of infrastructure design, hardware and virtual
specification, deployment and controlled transition to service.
Ownership
of the design, implementation, and transition of solutions and to lead
the line on the technical implementation for large and complex UK and
Ireland I&U activities.
Technically collaborate with third party suppliers where appropriate
and ensure that their provision of services meets the technical needs
of a deliverable and quality that enables us to meet or exceed service
levels.
Provide technical authority to our customer solutions, technical
leadership to our projects and technical coaching to our sales and
services teams.
Maintain contemporary infrastructure, platform, product and
application knowledge – be responsible for keeping up skills to stay
ahead of the curve and thus keep our teams technical skills sharp.
Develop best practice guidelines, checklist and task-lists for regional
teams
Experience of managing complex and large IT implementations ideally into large NHS Trusts.
Proven excellence in delivery of technical IT infrastructure
including networks, server design (including virtual), platforms and
storage.
Excellent communication and organisational skills

ITIL Expert or equivalent qualification
Industry level certification or equivalent experience of platforms
including but not limited to MS Windows Server, Linux, VMware and
Citrix.
Quality Management System – proven ability to design, build and deploy to a predictable quality.
