If you are interested in a business development role, the Global Business Performance (GBP) acts as a key enabler to the Global Commercial Payments business, partnering on such diverse areas as Field Enablement & Knowledge Management, Business Solutions & Analytics, Business Transformation & Strategy and Contracts, Legal & Proposal Strategy. Summer Interns will have the opportunity to work on projects that support one of three key areas identified for 2014:
- Transforming the quality of data driven insights to our customers
- Raising the bar on selling excellence in our field teams
- Accelerating business model & process transformation to gain efficiencies

Our Summer Internship Programme will provide high-performing MBA students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in projects that have strategic, operational or financial significance to the company. Interns will meet leaders from all levels of the business, have a chance to learn about the culture and values of the organisation, and network across regions and functions.

What would you do every day as a GBP Summer Intern at American Express?
- Analyse and manipulate data to gain insights and make recommendations
- Provide high-level strategic counsel to top management

Example Projects could include:
- Transform reporting used by our field teams and make it more accessible
- Identify initiatives to positively impact the P&L of the business, and use your analysis to make recommendations to senior management
- Drive efficiency & productivity of field teams through scorecard or incentive management

The Programme commences in June 2014 for 10 weeks.

It consists of the following components:

* Introduction to American Express

* Meaningful projects

* Speaker sessions with senior management

* Social and networking events

* Group assignment

* Buddy programme

* Mid-term and final performance reviews

* Strong analytical and quantitative skills

* Flexibility to juggle multiple projects
