SUMMARY:
This is an opportunity to contribute to the overall safety of our customers and team members with particular respect to food production, preparation and service areas of the store. This position will be primarily responsible for checking food safety and compliance in the main production, preparation and service areas of the store but will encompass other responsibilities in store related to food safety and health & safety. Additional responsibilities may include other safety related tasks as instructed by the Store Team Leader.

- Educate Team Members on best practices and store standards
- Conduct regular calibration of probes and other food safety equipment
- Monitor and verify food safety checkpoints
- Make recommendations regarding best practices in regards to food processes and procedures.
- Communicate with team members, leadership and maintenance regarding compliance issues.
- Facilitate training in proper food handling techniques.
- Maintain records and present weekly progress report to Store Leadership
- Participate on all matters relating to Food Safety (EHO) Health & Safety
- Involvement with Company run Food Safety audits (Ecosure), with the required follow up actions, including any Corrective Actions as highlighted in the final audit report.
- Other duties as assigned by Store Leadership.
- Work towards compliance with all UK Whole Foods Market Food Safety programmes
Must have be:
- Strong computer background.
- Able to work independently and appropriately to meet deadlines.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Committed to providing superior customer service.
- Work in a polite and professional manner to resolve any issues presented.
- Relevant experience maintaining HACCP standards, food safety programmes
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external contacts.

- Documented Food Safety Training and education, including attendance and certification of Food Safety Level 3 during the probationary period of this position.
INTELLECTUAL REQUIREMENTS
- A desire to grow with the Administration/Food Safety teams
- Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products carried in the store in relation to food safety.
- Willingness to evaluate all products offered in the store in relation to food safety.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- A desire to learn about natural and organic foods and products.

- Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.
- Able to answer customer questions in a clear and service-oriented manner.
Essential Job Functions:
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. Bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat.
- Bend and lift loads. Push and pull carts.
- Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
- Environmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, ovens, freezer, outdoors, etc.)
