Job Summary & Responsibilities
Operations is a multi-faceted division that partners with all areas of the firm to deliver banking, sales and trading and asset management capabilities to clients around the world. Alongside this vital service delivery role, Operations provides essential risk management and control, preserving and enhancing the firm’s assets and its reputation.
Regulatory Operations is part of the Risk and Control organisation which is an integral part of the Operations Division. The team has approximately 225 staff globally covering the Americas, Asia and EMEA regions, of which approximately 30 are located in London. The London team has responsibility for the firm’s non-financial regulatory reporting to all relevant external stakeholders in the EMEA region, including the monitoring of positions and the preparation of transaction and position reports across a wide range of traded financial products and business lines.
We are looking for an experienced Operations professional to work in the Reporting and Monitoring team.
Responsibilities include:
• Produce and/or validate daily, weekly or monthly Regulatory Reports
• Investigate and resolve exceptions generated during the Regulatory Reporting process
• Respond to enquiries from the Regulators and internal teams such as Compliance and Legal
• Support Business Analysis team delivering strategic projects to improve the regulatory reporting infrastructure, e.g. completing UAT for regular system upgrades
• Maintain strong Risk Management within the daily production process
• Manage maintenance of procedures and other documents relating to the team
• Drive forward solutions to remediate production issues
• Participate in strategic initiatives across the global Regulatory Operations department
• Develop solid working relationships with many other areas of the firm including the Front Office, Technology, Legal, Compliance, as well as interaction with external clients and regulators to support various reporting functions
• Support team involvement in other GS activities outside of daily work
Basic Qualifications
• Graduate
• Industry Qualifications - IAQ and IMC
• Minimum 6 years work experience in the Securities Industry
• Minimum 4 years work experience within a controls department of a Global Investment Bank
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Strong Risk Management and can work under strict deadlines
• Experience with Regulatory Reporting
• Working knowledge of tradable financial products, e.g. Equities, Fixed Income, Exchange Traded Derivatives, OTC Derivatives
• Proficient in the use of MS Office products
• Proactive and self-starting individual with high levels of ownership
• Flexibility and ability to learn quickly
• Strong interpersonal skills together with the ability to influence others and make decisions
