We are looking for a highly motivated professional who is ready to take on the challenges of working in a fast-paced, world class environment and ready to own the quality of mission critical trading software that processes millions of transactions and trillions of dollars on a daily basis. The individual will assist in defining the departments Test Governance model and have specific ownership of key functional Testing activities. The individual will partner with development, business and support teams to build an understanding of the varied and complex business functionality supported by the financial trading systems.
Job Background/context:
The global Foreign Exchange business operates on a twenty-four hour basis, covering trading centers in North America, Europe and Asia-Pac. The FX Essential Services department provides testing services for Electronic internal sales & trading systems. Our mission is to deliver world class quality assurance to the business and provide ongoing support to technology and business users. This is a hands-on role that will offer exposure to the full testing cycle, whilst working closely with the front office business and development teams across the globe. In this role you will have the opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing team that is seeking to use leading-edge technology to automate and streamline the Testing process. We are looking for a creative problem solver, who can drive innovation in the Testing process.
Key Responsibilities
The role will include, but not limited to the following
  • Work directly with key Business stakeholders to develop a deep understating of the Velocity product how it is used, and how to transfer this back into the QA process. 
  • Responsible for line management, include performance and career development, of QA team.
  • Assist in defining and implementing process and practices for Test Governance with FX Essential Services
  • Coach project teams on Testing best practice throughout the lifecycle
  • Foster a spirit of innovation and collaboration in regards to Testing
  • Collaborate and partner closely with program managers, development leads, test leads and production support teams to ensure that software is tested to highest quality.
  • Playing an active role in re-shaping the way that UAT is managed.
Key Relationships:
Partner with technology teams across FXLM and the wider Citi technology group to drive quality across the software development life cycle.

  • This challenging role will require the candidate to be involved in the full project lifecycle, to ensure that new developments provide the anticipated functionality, and to ensure current functionality is unaffected.
  • The production of metrics surrounding the quality of software, trend analysis of the underlying causes, and implementation of remedial actions
  • The role provides opportunity to work on a range of projects, normally with several tasks ongoing at any one time. The work will provide the candidate with numerous chances to deliver concrete business benefits.

Qualifications

 
Knowledge/Experience:

  • Significant experience at a User Acceptance Test Management level, with a demonstrable track record working on large testing programmes.
  • Demonstrated experience of leading teams in a geographically diverse environment.
  • Knowledge of full software development and testing lifecycle.
  • Experience in writing range of Test/ Business artifacts; Test Plan, Test Cases, BRD’s/ FRD’s etc…
  • Experience of working within the Foreign Exchange department for a Financial Services company.

  • Systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to testing and problem solving
  • Ability to persuade and influence staff at all levels, with diplomatic but assertive approach in dealing with people
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a proactive attitude, always seeking opportunities to add value

Qualifications:
  • 3rd level academic qualification
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience


Competencies

  • Knowledge of industry standard Testing tools.
  • Experienced in working on multiple releases in parallel
  • Self motivated individual and creative thinker who will take ownership and accountability.
  • Thorough knowledge of Testing lifecycle and methodologies.
  • Flexible, able to cope with changing requirements / time constraints
