We are recruiting for a Project Engineer for the Engineering Team in the Services Centre of Excellence, Aztec West in Bristol. This is a diverse role, engaging in all aspects of the equipment Production Control Systems portfolio. The role spans projects of varying complexity from minor control system modernisation through to large established oil and gas field upgrades.
  • Reports to the Engineering Manager
  • The Project Engineer is ultimately the technical liaison between the customer, engineering, sourcing, commercial and project management teams
  • Pro-actively tracks progress and drives engineering projects from concept to delivery
  • Significant involvement with the bid process in regards to scope of work, man-hour utilisation and timescales
  • Drives assigned engineering team to achieve Project On Time Delivery (OTD)
  • Ensures clear scope definition and linearity throughout the bid / Request for Quotation stage
  • Main facilitator of engineering communication between customer representatives and services engineering team
  • Maintains seamless delivery of project from concept through to completion
  • Work effectively with the Resource Planner in organising and distributing the workload
  • Perform various project meeting duties ranging from chair to secretary
  • Works closely with the engineering team leaders to ensure appropriate allocation of resources are assigned to projects
  • Works alongside the engineering planner to undertake effective planning of projects, and scheduling of engineering activity within teams capacity
  • Report project progression and management of key deliverables including the hours spent vs allocated
  • Technical sign-off on technical contract variations that impact engineering resource
  • Creation and maintenance of the Technical Risk Register.

Ensure compliance with all Environmental Health and Safety requirements, including but not
limited to participating and assisting where necessary with any internal or external audits,
ensuring the assigned area of work is kept to a good housekeeping standard, is clean and tidy at
the end of each day, and engagement in the GE Global Star program for Subsea Controls.

  • Degree qualified in a relevant engineering field or equivalent experience
