Job Purpose:
To support senior bankers with analysis of debt
arranging and advisory transactions in the project and infrastructure
finance space in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
Job background / context:
The IEF team of bankers seeks to arrange new debt
financings for clients seeking finance for infrastructure projects in
the EMEA region. The team may also advise clients on their debt raising
activities. Debt may be arranged as loans or bonds for issuance in
public or private markets.
Transactions are typically executed by a team
consisting of a senior banker (who leads the transaction and
negotiations) and a junior banker (who supports with analysis and
various other duties).
Key responsibilities:
- Credit analysis and the preparation of credit papers
- Prepare pitch books for new transaction opportunities
- Analyse or build complex financial models in Excel
- Analyse due diligence prepared for various lending or advisory transactions
- Prepare information memorandums and ratings presentations
- Review transaction documentation
- Monitor news flow and relevant sector and product research
- Monitoring credit and preparation of annual credit reviews
Development value:
The role will provide a good platform for the understanding of the debt markets in the infrastructure space in EMEA as well as significant interaction with other product groups such as derivatives, syndicate, debt capital markets, loan markets, high-yield and investment banking. The role will help the candidate learn structuring skills, modelling, documentation and credit, providing wide scope for future roles in CMO, Banking or Markets

FSA : Does this role require FSA registration? Yes
Knowledge / experience:
Ideally will posses some prior experience of Citi’s
systems and approach to lending, and an understanding of the debt
markets in general.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication (written and spoken) skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Good knowledge of Citi systems such as RORC and risk rating models
- Good knowledge of MS Office products (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and ideally applicable Citi templates.
- Good knowledge of other systems such as Bloomberg, Factiva
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
Qualifications:
Graduate degree preferably in business/accounting/economics related fields.
