Job Purpose:

To ensure delivery of consumer products on a new system by owning the User Acceptance Testing and Conversion Testing of banking and investment products.

Job Background/context:
  • The UK Consumer Bank has circa 200,000 customers with just under £2billion of deposits and over £100millionm investment AUMs. The business is supported by a small London based branch network with Operation and Customer Service based across multiple sites both in the UK and abroad.
  • The target market is affluent, globally-mobile individuals that are based in London. Our customer’s expectations are high and the role-holder must be exceptional at finding win-win solutions for customer and Bank.
  • As part of the integration of the UK Consumer bank and the International Personal Bank (which offer offshore wealth management services), a technological integration project is being mobilised which will move both business onto the same strategic IT platform, called Rainbow.  
  • This is a very exciting time to join as the role holder will be closely involved in this project, ensuring that the resulting solution will deliver products that perform as intended.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To own User Acceptance Testing and Conversion Testing for a particular product set and/or channel.  The Product team works across banking and investment products including current accounts, savings accounts, Mutual Funds and brokerage and each member of the team will contribute to the testing phase of the Rainbow project.
  • The role-holder will be assigned a particular product set and / or channel and will be personally responsible for all testing activities.  This will include design of test scripts, execution of test scripts, providing MIS to seniors regarding testing progress, raising defects with development teams and working with development teams to agree resolution to issues raised.
  • The role-holder will be assigned an execution plan over the testing period, and will be required to deliver that plan on a daily basis, prioritizing where necessary and raising issues to senior management team, where appropriate.
  • The role-holder will be viewed as a subject matter expert by the technical development teams and therefore must be able to quickly learn the technical detail of the product set in order to resolve queries and assess if test scripts should pass or fail.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential.  The role-holder will be required to liaise directly with Rainbow Project Managers and senior stakeholders and therefore require the ability to present technically complex information in a simplistic manner. The role-holder will also be working very closely with development teams based in Poland, Chennai and Singapore and will use excellent communication skills to work effectively with overseas teams.
  • As we near to launch date of the Rainbow project, the role-holders will be required to participate in rehearsal weekends.

Qualifications

 
Knowledge/Experience:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IT / Technical related projects, particularly participation in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase of medium to large scale projects.
  • Working knowledge of Banking and/or Investment products in the UK market.
  • Prior experience of Quality Centre application is desired.

  • Delivering results – Strong organization skills, disciplined, detail-oriented methodology and a commercial acumen, results focused combined strongly with ability to prioritise around value and managing execution using functional expertise.
  • Ability to work well under pressure – demonstrating flexibility and the ability to tolerate ambiguity in a fast moving multi-tasking environment.
  • UAT or Conversion testing experience

Qualifications:
  • University degree in a related area
