Our well-established Summer Internship Programme will provide high-performing MBA students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in projects that have strategic, operational or financial significance to the company. Interns will meet the business and Finance leaders from all levels and have a chance to learn about the culture and values of the organisation as well as network across regions and functions.

What would you do every day as a Finance Summer Intern at American Express?
- Manage relationships in a complex global matrix organisation
- Gather and analyse information from a wide array of sources; identify trends and articulate how those trends impact business models
- Proactively engage with business partners to provide analyses and data that facilitate business management and development
- Work closely with business unit leaders within a quick turn-around time frame to ensure timely and meaningful decisions
- Obtain a comprehensive understanding of the business and its needs

The Programme commences in June 2014 for 10 weeks.

It consists of the following components:

* Introduction to American Express

* Meaningful projects

* Speaker sessions with senior management

* Social and networking events

* Group assignment

* Buddy programme

* Mid-term and final performance reviews

Here are the skills and experiences we are looking for:

* Ability to initiate and drive change management processes

* Ability to build models that drive decision making

* Strong analytical and quantitative skills

* Understanding of the business and its key financial drivers

* Ability to communicate, build relationships and influence at all levels

* Prior financial services/bank card/business development/investment banking experience a plus
