Responsibility for Tax controllership, reporting & compliance, Integration work and reporting process improvement for Capital UK.
* Reporting, Compliance and controllership:
* Responsibility for general Income Tax and VAT compliance & controllership including implementation of appropriate income tax and VAT compliance & controllership processes
* Review/preparation of Quarterly & Annual US GAAP reporting for taxes, incl. estimated tax provision modeling
* Prepare and maintain FAS 109 P&L and Balance Sheet accts, FIN 48 calculations and SOX 404 documentation, assist in complying with the Senior Accounting Office (SAO) certification process
* Manage Quarterly & Annual Tax account reconciliation processes
* Coordinate Quarterly Review of ETR with UK Tax Leader/HQ tax team
* Support UK Tax Director/Corporate tax teams in income tax return preparation
* Review of UK Statutory accounts including US GAAP to Stat walk and work with finance/controllership teams to drive process improvements in the GAAP to Stat walk process
* Support and co-ordination of tax audits
* Monitor and manage deferred tax balances – work with finance and tax teams to support balances

Budgeting and Monthly, Quarterly actual reporting:
* Manage Tax FP&A Process - Coordinate w/ Local/HQ Finance and Tax teams
* Lead Tax budgeting sessions: Blueprint, Operating plan, etc.
* Ensure Transactions & Target Tax Attributes Properly Recorded

Strategic:
* Strategic tax planning for UK group in co-ordination with UK Tax Director, HQ teams, GE Corporate Tax teams, and outside service providers

New Products / Deal structuring:
* Support on going Sales & Pricing team advisory on deal structuring from Tax perspective
* Tax analysis and definition of compliance needs for new product development

Projects/ Initiatives:
* Simplify the legal and management entity structure while maintaining UK and US tax benefits
* Support UK Tax Director on M&A initiatives
* Responsible for automating & streamlining the Tax reporting processes to increase accuracy & efficiency (FAS 109, Quarterly reporting, FP&A, Tax reporting)
* Support European Transfer pricing initiatives

Experience
* Significant demonstrated tax controllership experience, ideally in a multinational environment
* Strong technical accounting expertise - US and UK GAAP, IFRS/IAS
* UK tax knowledge, ideally with professional qualification
* Prior Financial Services and/or Equipment Leasing industry preferred
* Ideally Chartered Accountant, CIMA or equivalent qualification
* Strong financial, accounting and analysis skills, with experience preparing financial statements and reports
* Strong communication skills, ability to present complex structures in a simple fashion and to report to senior management
* A self starter, independent with strong intellectual curiosity
* Strong process focus, passion for simplification and process improvement
* Ability to partner with and support other functions (e.g. Tax, Controllership, FP&A Pricing, Sales)
