Job Purpose:To ensure the timely and accurate placing of fund, equity and alternative trade investments, and ensure a compliant, efficient, and timely service to client and customers.
To work with our network of message routing vendors, and work to tight intra day deadlines, and quickly ensure resolution of issues to minimise risk and impact to ourselves and out customers.
NOTE: This is a Bonus Eligible position

Job Background/context:Part of Wrap Operations, the primary role of the Trading team is to ensure all trades in funds, equities and alternative investments requested on clients accounts are placed within relevant deadlines, with any related queries/issues being investigated and dealt with in a timely manner. 

Key Responsibilities:• Daily allocation of work to team members taking account of skill levels, volumes and SLAs. Working with Team Manager to identify solutions if any SLA is under threat.
• Supporting Manager in optimising team performance through provision of ongoing, regular performance feedback to team members on both productivity and accuracy.
• Working with Manager to design training plans for all staff and to take responsibility for the roll out of these.
• Ensure the timely event reporting of breaches and incidents and identification and implementation of preventative measures when issues arise
• Assist in the clearance of transactional-related stock and cash breaks
• Develop and maintain positive and constructive working relationships with other teams within Wrap Operations and various internal Citi stakeholders
• Assist in the clearance of transactional-related stock and cash breaks
• Working closely with other relevant operations managers to ensure that process risks are minimised
• Carrying out regular independent quality checks and linking findings into training plans and regular feedback.
• Managing training of new entrants and providing support to help them settle in and contribute to operation.
• Involvement in production of MI in team and working with Manager to ensure trends and learning are understood and improvement plans put in place as appropriate.
• Identifying areas for improvement, putting plans in place to address and delivering results against plans.
• Controlling indirect tasks within team to ensure that all carried out on time.
• Ensure the team maintains up-to-date, written procedures and controls for existing and new business including implementation of approved procedures in a controlled manner
• Placing trades with Fund Managers and Stockbrokers
• Investigating and responding to queries from Fund Managers and Stockbrokers
• Escalating to line manager suspected transactional issues, failures or potential losses
• Raising & responding to client queries/issues
• Work in full compliance with established processes
• Operating within strict regulatory timescales, agreed business SLAs and confidentiality standards

Qualifications

 
Knowledge/Experience: Essential:• Previous experience in Financial Services
• Previous experience in a Settlement related role is desirable
Desirable:• Experience of working to strict deadlines and targets
• Be able to take ownership of resolving issues
• Awareness of relevant FSA regulation

Qualifications:• Industry experience within Financial Services
• Direct skills, knowledge and experience of a Wrap operational  environment
