This position will provide architecture and governance support to delivery and strategy teams within the Global Network and International Card Service Technologies organization. This is a unique opportunity to drive architecture for a large (115+ applications) yet diverse international portfolio including the following areas; Marketing, Sales, Remittance, Insurance, Banking, Compliance, AML, Credit Bureau Reporting, Salesforce.
The successful candidate will:
- Guide the technical direction of applications within the portfolio providing consulting expertise, leveraging business and technical knowledge to support business strategies and deliver business value.
- Translate strategic vision into business capabilities and technical architecture, design for delivery.
- Ensure IT investment is aligned with portfolio strategies and business goals.
- Provide architectural governance consultation and coaching - reviewing projects to ensure alignment with security and architectural standards as well as business and technical strategies.
- Play an integral role in building and enhancing the infrastructure required to support the portfolio in terms of robustness, scalability, availability and efficiency.
- Work closely with owning Directors to identify technical solutions and business process improvements in support of the business and IT strategic direction. Also, ensure application development supports these strategies.
- Provide expertise to development teams working from various locations on application development processes, technical architecture, and systems integration. These expertise should also extend to providing detailed guidance at the code level as required.
- Perform research and development to evaluate emerging technologies and their potential to optimize the platform.
- Experience of a broad range of enterprise technology domains and technology implementations
- The ability to quickly understand and apply new technology environment, concepts and architectures
- Experience with both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
- Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills
- Strong knowledge and understanding of architectural concepts (security, data flow, network, data architecture), applications, systems design and integration principles with a detailed understanding of applicable programming methodologies
- Strong analytical skills - problem identification and resolution
- Strong technical and people leadership
- Experience as subject matter expert for multiple initiatives
Qualifications
Skills / Experience required;
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Certifications appropriate to the role (i.e. JCP, MCSE, TOGAF, etc.)
- Practical experience with the following technologies and platforms (deep technical understanding in several areas is expected)
- Java/J2EE
- Websphere Application Server
- DBMS: Oracle / SQL Server / DB2
- Design Patterns
- Open Source Frameworks
- Web Services and SOA
- MQ, JMS
- Encryption
- Security – secure development principles, infrastructure
- TOGAF or other Enterprise Architecture Frameworks and their application
- Web application development techniques
- HIgh Availability and Capacity Planning Design/Architecture principles
Additional experience desired;
- Mainframe systems architecture and design
- .Net frameworks
- Informatica Certification or experience delivering solutions with Informatica products/services
